Today I became a part of a brotherhood! I am a honorary member of the #MadeMan organization. 100 male philanthropist, were honored tonight and being a part of this group was an amazing experience. So many successful black men whom I've never met before (I knew a few), to be in this room was an eye opener on the possibilities to build and strengthen my network. Being a kid from Southeast D.C, I wasn't supposed to be in that room with the cards I was dealt. But by God's grace and a little faith, I was two feet down and being honored. There are some things that God can do that men can't!
We all came together at Ballou High School the day before the event and spoke to and prayed with 40 young men. Also the honorees donated suits to the young men. Each one of us will be adopting a school in DC and serving as a mentor, a point of contact an a career source for our young men. The resources in this circle are beyond connected and will provide guidance more than anything for our young men. We all know that I will be in a Southeast school. It's only right!
It's a blessing to be honored at the Made Man Awards amongst so many great men in various fields. Special thanks to Made Man, Blueprint Global, The National Urban League, 100 Black Men, Black Enterprise and all of the sponsors for producing this incredible event. Congratulations to everyone being honored !!!!!! Special thanks to Quiana Montgomery for nominating me and Ky Dele for her hard work and service!
I AM A MADE MAN!
